Places to Eat In Downtown OWA

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen

Paula Deen’s is one of the best places to eat in downtown OWA. The Southern-inspired cuisine is mouthwatering, and the portions are generous.

Lucy’s Retired Surfer’s Bar is another excellent choice for dining in downtown OWA. The menu features fresh, locally caught seafood, and the prices are very reasonable.

Valerio’s is a great Italian restaurant that is currently the newest addition to the downtown OWA restaurant scene.

The stone oven-baked pizza is excellent, and the pasta dishes are also very good. The service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are reasonable.

The Groovy Goat

The Groovy Goat is a fun addition to downtown OWA, quickly becoming a popular spot for lunch and dinner.

The restaurant features a variety of American and international beers, as well as an extensive wine list.

Rum Island

Rum Island is a Daiquiri Bar that is perfect for cooling off on a hot day. The bar offers a variety of frozen rum drinks!

My favorite is the Water Malone – so yummy and refreshing!

Places to Stay In OWA

There are a variety of places to stay near OWA, including hotels, motels, and campgrounds. However, there is only one hotel at OWA, currently. According to a little birdie, a couple are coming soon. But, until then, your only option inside OWA is the boutique hotel, TownePlace Suites.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Foley at OWA is an excellent choice for accommodations while visiting Downtown OWA. The suites are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the theater itself is very spacious and comfortable. Tropic Falls

Tropic Falls features an amusement park and an indoor waterpark, making it the perfect place to spend a day with family or friends. The waterpark is bigger than you’d expect and features a lazy river and slides. The amusement park has a variety of rides for all ages, as well as an arcade and a laser tag arena.

Legends in Concert

Legends in Concert is a live tribute show that features some of the biggest names in music. The show is held at the Foley Events Center, which is adjacent to OWA, and features a variety of well-known performers, such as Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and Madonna.

Where is OWA?

When did OWA open?

OWA officially opened to the public on July of 2017. However, some of the shops and restaurants in OWA had a “soft opening” earlier in the month, so that they could work out any kinks before the grand opening.

Since its grand opening, OWA has been a huge success!

What is the parking situation like at OWA?

There’s plenty of parking at OWA and the best news is that it is FREE. There are over MANY parking spaces available, so you will never have to worry about not being able to find a spot.

What does OWA mean and how do you pronounce it?

“OWA” (oh-wah) is derived from a Muscogee Creek phrase that means “water,” referring to its sole owners, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
