What to Expect at Paula Deen’s in Foley, Alabama
If you’re not familiar with Paula Deen, she is a famous TV chef who gained notoriety for her love of all things butter. While her recipes may not be the healthiest, they are definitely delicious. And that’s what you can expect at her restaurant – tasty comfort food.
Most of the dishes are fried or smothered in gravy. So if you’re looking to eat healthily, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you want some good old-fashioned southern cooking, Paula Deen’s is definitely worth a visit.
One thing to note – Paula Deen’s is a family-style restaurant. So you will pay one price for your meal and then be able to help yourself to as much food as you’d like.
In addition to the great food, another thing that sets Paula Deen’s apart from other restaurants is the atmosphere. The décor is fun and kitschy, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. It definitely has a down-home feel to it.
Can you take home leftovers?
No! Because it is an all-you-can-eat, unlimited refills kinda place, you can’t take home leftovers. You can, however, choose to take your dessert home to enjoy later.
What is the dress code at Paula Deen’s?
There is no dress code at Paula Deen’s at OWA, but most people tend to dress casually because they have been at the beach most of the day.

Interesting Facts about Paula Deen’s
The second time we went to Paula Deen’s, we were one of only about 3 tables – we went on a gorgeous day in the summer and before OWA’s water park, Tropic Falls had opened.
So, we were able to chat more with the waitress. She told us that she had been to many different ones and they all had a signature dish that was geared towards the area! Like, shrimp and grits in Alabama.
That info alone makes us want to eat at every Paula Deen’s in the US now!

Ask your waitstaff if you aren’t sure what to order! They are super knowledgeable and can give you tons of advice.
Be sure to swing into the shop! You can buy the mixes and seasonings that you loved and take them home to recreate your meal over and over again!
Our Final Thoughts on Paula Deen’s
We got The Albany that let us choose 2 main dishes and 4 sides. Plus, we each got sweet iced tea. We decided to split it so that we could each choose 1 maoin dish and 2 side dishes – this works really well because each person can choose their favorites and the arguing is kept at a minimum. LOL!
- Kelli chose the fried chicken, broccoli casserole, and creamed potatoes.
- Ricky chose the beef pot roast, cheesew grits, and baked mac & cheese.
Yes, we kinda carb loaded, but as long as we don’t do that all the time its ok. 🙂
The wait staff was super friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious. So whether you’re a fan of Paula Deen or not, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out.
